Finally Ugly Betty is back and all new tonight on ABC! In the Season 2 premiere “” Betty is in denial over how Henry’s leaving has affected her. Amanda is coping with finding out that Fey Summers is her mother with junk food and best friend Marc. Wilhelmina (like usual) is scheming to turn the Meade families newest tragedy to her advantage.

Congratulations to Salma Hayek and fiancé Francois Henri Pinaulton! The birth of their daughter Valentina Paloma Pinault has finally happened and both mommy and baby are well. Salma announced her pregnancy and engagement news back in March. The baby girl is just in time for Season 2 of Ugly Betty which starts this Thursday! This is Salma’s first child but she will gain 2 more as stepchildren when she and Francois tie the knot. No information besides the babies name has been released. Source

Best Award. Congratulations to America Ferrera for winning an Emmy as leading actress in Ugly Betty. The win actually represents several victories. America Ferrera at only 23 and in one Season has managed to beat out several high profile actresses. America Ferrera is also the first Latin woman in the history of the Emmy’s to win lead for best comedic performance. Unfortunately Vanessa Williams didn’t win but theirs always next year.

Judith is lighting up the big screen in her new movie Ira & Abby. The film has already won the audience award for best feature film at the 2006 Los Angeles Film Festival. The film bills itself as a “subversive romantic comedy” and is from the award winning filmmakers behind Kissing Jessica Stein. Watch with Kristen has already seen the first two episodes of Ugly Betty Season 2 (lucky girl)! According to her Season 2 is even better than Season 1 and has a surprising twist that made her burst into tears! I can’t wait to see what that could be. She also mentions that Amanda’s family also has another surprising twist. Watch with Kristen recently completed its 2007 Tater Top Awards and Ugly Betty got some mentions. Vanessa Williams lost out on Best Bitch to Chloë Sevigny who plays Nicki Grant on HBO’s Big Love. America Ferrera was able to capture the most votes for Funny Lady. The guest roster keeps on growing over at Ugly Betty. James Van Der Beek, Victoria Beckham and now Marlo Thomas have all been confirmed as guest stars. This season of Ugly Betty looks to be following the same formula of Season 1 by featuring high profile and award winning actors. The best has got to be Marlo Thomas. For fans of the Friends TV series you should remember her as Rachel’s mom. The Emmy award winning Marlo will appear as Sandra Winthrop the owner of a large jewelry company who has a thing for younger men. Yep you guessed it! Daniel (Eric Mabius) will be the man wooing Marla in an attempt to convince his family he’s a competent businessman.

America Ferrera is no Ugly Betty on the October 2007 cover of Glamour magazine.

America Ferrera opens up to Glamour magazine in a very interesting interview. In it she discusses the changing role of Latin women in Hollywood. She discusses her first experience in being followed by the paparazzi. To bad the guy thought he was following Salma Hayek! Proving that America is truly a regular girl and not a diva she also speaks about trying to sell her furniture on Craigslist and trying not to sweat on the red carpet.
