America Ferrera Mentioned in Congress

Congresswoman Hilda L. Solis praised America Ferrera on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives yesterday. America has been praised publicly for providing a excellent example to young women across the country, but yesterday she was acknowledged by Solis for representing Latinos on television in a positive light.

“Madame Speaker, I rise today to congratulate America Ferrera for winning the Golden Globe for best actress in a comedy for her work in the ABC show Ugly Betty,” is how Solis presented her praise Wednesday. Solis continued to praise her for breaking stereotypes and acting as a role model.

Congratulations to America and all associated with Ugly Betty for the well-deserved praise.
