Watching Ugly Betty

Last year it was announced that Rebecca Romijn was taking over from Mischa Barton (of OC fame) as the face of BeBe and Eva Longoria of Desperate Housewives fame would represent BeBe sport. Now we finally get a look at her ad for the popular apparel company.  Other provocative pictures in the campaign have Rebecca posing in lingerie and on a bed. The picture above features the Bebe floor length Sonara Halter Dress, visit BeBe for ordering information.

 On March 6, BeBe and InStyle hosted “An Evening of Hollywood Glam” with Rebecca Romijn and several of her Ugly Betty friends dropped by to show their support. Becki Newton, Vanessa Williams and Marc Indelicato are pictured in the first picture below. Doesn’t Marc look so grown up?  Greg Scott CEO of BeBe and Manny Mashouf founder and chairman of Bebe are featured with Rebecca in the second picture.

The Screen Actors Guild Awards were held on Janurary 27. Most of the cast of Ugly Betty were in attendance. Even though the show was up for three awards they lost both. But the greate news was cast looked great and their were a lot of different styles of dresses worn, but this time somebody stole the show. Keep on Reading to find out!

Dressed in Black

Michael Urie went with the classic look and pulls it off. Judith Light looked regal in black silk and diamonds. Mark Indelicato is too cute in his vest and pants. By far the most interesting look was Ana Ortiz, a sleeveless form fitting floor length black number. Even more impressive than the dress. The half a million dollars worth of diamonds by Kwait Ana is wearing! Diamond cluster earrings, vintage diamond and platinum bracelets and a even a diamond broach in her hair.

Flashy & Sassy

Both Ashley Jensen and Rebecca Romijn opted for glittery dresses. Ashley’s grey dress is floor length with gathering. The dress is slightly ill fitted and the draping is surprisingly frumpy, it just kills her natural sparkle. Rebecca’s kneelength with lace at the edges in shades of gray and black is head turning.

Best Looks

These 3 ladies have been shopping in the closets of Mode and it shows. 3 completly different looks but all look incredible. Becki Newton wears an all white tiered Elsie Katz dress that is dainty and flirty. Sparkles cover the gown, soft curls frame her face and give the dress a grown up fairytale vibe. America Ferrera proves that gray isn’t boring. Her charcol gray Monique Lhuillier dress with delicate lacing is accented by her bright pink lipcolor and a simple gathered hair style. Even her skin seemed to glow thanks to Lancôme*. My favorite look of the evening had to be Vanessa William’s strapless yellow dress. She proves that a yellow dress dosen’t have to be scary. The bright shade of yellow by Escada compliments her bronze skin. The side tied black belt and split gives the dress a nice silhoutte. Pulling the hair off her face and smoky eyes complete the look.

Best Red Carpet Look: America Ferrera at the 2007 Imagen awards where she won best actress honors for Ugly Betty and the creative achievement award. Ana Ortiz was also honored for best supporting actress and the show received honors for best prime time series.

Best Career Move: Salma Hayek might be pregnant and planning a wedding to a billionaire but that hasn’t slowed her down any! George Lopez is in talks to co write, star in and produce a film from her production company.

Best Guest Star: Posh. No I have no desire to see her on Ugly Betty but obviously from all of the buzz surrounding her cameo appearance it should be great for ratings!

Rebecca & Jerry get hitched!

Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O’Connell got married July 15, in a quiet ceremony at a private home in LA. The wedding was held outdoors and was attended by close family and friends only. Their probably wont be much of a honeymoon for the happy couple since both of them are starring on ABC TV series. Rebecca stars in Ugly Betty and Jerry is staring in the new comedy Carpoolers. Congratulations to the happy couple!

Michael Urie, Judith Light, America Ferrera, Eric Mabius, Ana Ortiz and Vanessa Williams were all in attendance at Outfest on July 15. The annual film showcase held in Los Angeles, CA featured a panel discussion with the Ugly Betty cast. Outfest is a nonprofit organization that works to promote and preserve the culture of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender images on film.

America Ferrera really seems to be stepping up her dress designs. At recent events she has been flaunting a thinner frame and putting a new spin on her signature black dresses.

The basic black with white trim at the hem and gathered sleeves, cute and stylish. Worn April 30 at The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Presents an Evening with Ugly Betty.

This dress gets my pick for best style. Its very romantic and glamorous but also very simple. Worn May 7 at The “Poiret: King of Fashion” Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

What better way to honor being listed on Time magazines 100 most influential people in the world list than with a change in style! This glittery brown dress is curve hugging and a nice change for America who seems most comfortable in black. Worn May 8 at the Red Carpet event for the Magazine.

The Ugly Betty cast members celebrated their first season with a Wrap Party hosted by Kahlua. They even got exclusive first tastes of Kahlua’s new flavors Hazelnut and French Vanilla. If that isn’t enough their were even some special Ugly Betty themed drinks, such as the “Mode” Mudslide, Ugly Kahlua and the Fashionista. Vanessa Williams Stands on Star at Hollywood Walk of Fame!

On March 19, Vanessa Williams was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (number 2,331 to be exact). Her birthday was March, 18 so not a bad present to get! Ugly Betty stars were in attendance as well as her family.

Both Rebecca Romijn and Salma Hayek attended the ceremony and spoke kind words about their Ugly Betty cast mate.

Vanessa Williams sits and poses with her star, and then poses with her entire family. Including her brother and felllow actor Chris Williams (grey suit) from Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story and Curb Your Enthusiasm fame.

Which Ana Ortiz dress is your favorite?

At the Costume Designers Guild Awards on February 17, Ana Ortiz wears a form fitting brown dress with a plunging neckline accentuated with a gold belt.

While at the NAACP Image Awards on March 2, she chooses a sleeveless dress with a two tone design of light and medium blue. I think I like this dress a little more, its like spring came early! Her hair would have looked even better up though.

The 38th Annual NAACP Image Awards aired live just a few hours ago on FOX. The Image Awards aim to celebrate the achievements of people of color in the entertainment industry. Ugly Betty was nominated in four categories and picked up three awards.

Ugly Betty star America Ferrera was a presenter at the 2007 Film Independent’s Spirit Awards. While presenting an award with Scrubs actor Zach Braff America made a statement that some have considered to be anti Bush. When asked by Zach what traits did she have in common with America her namesake America responded: that she was a free spirited person and America is supposedly free or at least it would be in 2008. At no time did America mention George Bush by name. If you want to see the show for yourself it reairs Wednesday February 28 on the IFC at 6:30 pm.
