Will Amanda get closer to her father’s identity? Can Betty change the “size” of fashion?

On an all new episode of Ugly Betty Amanda visits a psychic to get information on the identity of her real father. Betty gives Justin and some school classmates a tour of Mode. She quickly realizes that Mode’s size zero emaciated models are sending the wrong message and campaigns for Daniel to use “real” models for fashion week.

Wilhelmina continues to do what she loves best, trying to worm her way into the Meade family dynasty by any means necessary. Now for some news to make all the tweens and teens scream. Guest stars for this episode are rapper Bow Wow and former B2K singer and R&B sensation Omarion. The two will be performing on the show.

If you’re a fan of chick lit than Gina Gershon’s new film P.S. I Love You may just be worth checking out. The impressive cast lists stars veteran actress Kathy Bates, Oscar winner Hillary Swank, Friends star Lisa Kudrow and 300 star Gerard Butler. The movie centers around a young widower Holly played by Hillary Swank who has to learn to get on with her life after her husband Gerry dies.

After his death she begins to receive letters from him. One letter a month for an entire year. Somehow after finding out he was going to die from a brain tumor he is able to concoct this scheme before he dies to send her these letters after his death. Each letter is designed to help her move on with her life.

Even TV stars sometimes have to do deal with the hard knocks of real life. David Blue who plays Cliff the adorable average guy that Marc(Micheal Urie) falls in love with on Ugly Betty was robbed over the weekend as he left a Hollywood Party.

David and an unidentified female friend were held up at gunpoint after leaving a Season 2 Wrap Party for Ugly Betty. David showed he was just as adorable in real life as he is on TV when he stated on his Myspace blog that he was glad it was him rather than one of his richer costars.

David also revealed that the show is not done filming. The wrap party was in celebration of the holiday season. Ugly Betty finished working on the completed scripts with no writers on set and the strike still on the show has completed all it can do.

Is anyone else’s head spinning over all the Ugly Betty guest stars this Season? Not just ones who have been confirmed to guest star but all of those who also make it to the rumor mill? Now here is one guest star that I truly don’t have an opinion on good or bad, Gene Simmons singer of rock group KISS. This is truly one guest star I didn’t expect to see. At first I didn’t think he could fit into a show all about fashion.

Then I remembered the sex and fighting so this could work. TV Squad is speculating that he could be playing Amanda’s real daddy which would actually make perfect sense. I could definitely see him and Fey Summers getting it on at Studio 54 and now the thought of him with a Tweety Bird tattoo on his butt is ingrained in my head…

Looks like Lindsay won’t get to go Ugly. Reportedly her PR firm nixed the deal. Apparently they didn’t think it would be good for her career. On Ugly Betty Lindsey would have been portraying a fast food worker that Betty befriends. In real life Lindsay has been involved in drug scandals and several car wrecks and let’s not forget the multiple rehabs.

An appearance on a top rated TV show which would involve her actually doing some acting is a bad career move? Her last few movies have all been blunders a guest starring role on a TV show that is already a hit would have boosted her profile and allow some of her previous fans to take her seriously again. Looks like Lindsay needs some new representation because she couldn’t have wished for a better chance at redemption than guest starring on Ugly Betty. The show has the Midas touch!

But Ugly Betty has already rebounded with a much bigger guest star. Salma Hayek’s best gal pal Penelope Cruz is is coming to the show! Salma has been looking for a role for her friend for a while and apparently they have finally found the right one. The Academy Award nominated Cruz has starred with Tom Cruise in Vanilla Sky and the oh-so-sexy Matthew Broderick in Sahara. Penelope’s versatility should fit right into the crazy world of Ugly Betty.

As of last week Silvio Horta and Marco Pennette Ugly Betty writers are among the who’s who list of writers that have signed a pledge in support of the Writers Guild of America strike. According to the pledge they will do no writing whatsoever while the strike continues and neither will their writing staff be asked too. Show star America Ferrera has also been spotted joining the picket line outside the Hollywood TV Studios. In fact most of the main cast has shown their support in some way.

However Ashley Jensen reported that they only have enough episodes till sometime in December! Ashley made this comment while in the UK at the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women Of The Year Awards in London. She was named Ultimate Woman on TV. Other honorees included Angelina Jolie for Ultimate Woman Who Made Us Care for humanitarian efforts, Cameron Diaz was honored for Ultimate Lady Of Film and singer Rihanna won the honor for Ultimate Mistress of Music.

This November Ugly Betty is pulling out all the stops. Even though the list of guest stars continue to be full of surprises and pulls in some of the biggest names of Broadway and TV Ugly Betty seems to have outdone itself this November.

Marlo Thomas already guest stared as a love interest that Daniel tries to woo for the magazine. This weeks episode features the long awaited Posh appearance. In “A Nice Day for a Posh Wedding” the Spice Girl and wife of David Beckham a.k.a. Victoria Beckham will be featured in a cameo role as herself. What will Posh be doing in this episode?

Playing the Maid of Honor to Wilhelmina, who really doesn’t appreciate Posh trying to upstage her at her own wedding! Could their be a battle of the Bitches under way? But the guest stars for this episode just keep getting better. Fashion designer Vera Wang also guest stars as herself and designed the wedding gowns that Victoria Beckham and Wilhelmina wear in this episode. Rick Fox also reprises his role as Wilhelmina’s bodyguard with benefits.

The week of November 15, Comedian Mo’Nique guest stars in the episode “I See Me, I.C.U.” The plus size comedian starred in the hugely successful comedy tour The Queens of Comedy, The Parkers with Countess Vaughn and recently in the VH1 reality show Flavor of Love Girls: Charm School.

Mo’Nique is know for her raunchy comedy style and should be great in the role of L’Amanda. The weekend receptionist to Mode who also has a thing for Henry. Photos from the episode show the two engaged in a lip lock. Obviously L’Amanda is written to be very similar to Amanda but can Mode really handle two Amanda’s? I can’t wait to find out!

The guest roster keeps on growing over at Ugly Betty. James Van Der Beek, Victoria Beckham and now Marlo Thomas have all been confirmed as guest stars. This season of Ugly Betty looks to be following the same formula of Season 1 by featuring high profile and award winning actors. The best has got to be Marlo Thomas. For fans of the Friends TV series you should remember her as Rachel’s mom. The Emmy award winning Marlo will appear as Sandra Winthrop the owner of a large jewelry company who has a thing for younger men. Yep you guessed it! Daniel (Eric Mabius) will be the man wooing Marla in an attempt to convince his family he’s a competent businessman.

For Season 2 Ugly Betty seems to be making some rather interesting choices for guest stars. First theirs Victoria Beckham whose best know for being married to Soccer star David Beckham and for being a singer in the I-wish-they-would-stay-retired girl group the Spice Girls. Now Vanessa Williams is set to reunite with her ex-husband Rick Fox on the show, where he will be playing her love interest and her body guard of all things. Is anyone else getting a flash back to Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner courtesy The Bodyguard film? Fox a retired NBA player for the Los Angeles Lakers is booked for at least 2 episodes.

The real question is can Posh and Rick Fox act? Posh’s role is reported to be a cameo which shouldn’t be too much of a stretch but Fox’s role will definitely require more acting chops. Here’s hoping both of them are up to the challenge and don’t leave the fans disappointed. If nothing else I can’t wait to see why Wilhelmina needs a bodyguard. I’m guessing Claire Meade wants her husband back! On the fashion front Ugly Betty is making some very wise choices with none other than fashion icon Kenneth Cole set to guest star.

Best Guest Star: Posh. No I have no desire to see her on Ugly Betty but obviously from all of the buzz surrounding her cameo appearance it should be great for ratings!

1. Ugly Betty is on hiatus but Gina Gershon will be starring in the season premiere of Psych on USA network! When Gus and Shawn enter an American Idol style singing competition to track down a potential killer Gina (in a parody of Paula Abdul) becomes the main suspect.

Not only are the Spice Girls having a Reunion but fans of Posh, also know as Victoria Beckham (wife to soccer icon David Beckhman) may get to see her on Ugly Betty. Eric Mabius apparently let the news leak that the producers were courting Victoria to make a cameo in Ugly Betty. No offense to Posh but I’m hoping that this isn’t true!

Obviously Posh and her eccentric fashion choices and razor thin stick figure would look like a natural fit for a show dealing with the crazy world of fashion and the self obsessed people in it. But unlike the well established actors that Season One featured can Posh act? If were judging by her role in the excruciating Spice Girls Movie no!

Plus theirs the fact that I just don’t want to see Posh on one of my favorite shows! But with a huge world tour planned she might not have the time to visit the sets of Ugly Betty and this is one fan who won’t be disappointed. However some of you guys might feel differently, feel free to share your thoughts.

Episode 23: East Side Story

On the Season Finale of Ugly Betty lots of big surprises are in store and secrets are falling out of the closet!

After a lot of tension and pain for us fans Betty and Henry’s romance starts to heat up which means heartbreak for Charlie. Wilhelmina’s ambitious plans to take over the Mode dynasty seem to be going on the right track when Bradford makes a proposal. While Daniel’s growing addiction prompts Alexis to intervene. The Suarez family trip to Mexico takes a dangerous turn and someone dies! Betty’s orthodontic technician, Diane gets too involved with her patients lives including Betty’s. While a surprising discovery by Amanda and Christina in the “love dungeon” could lead to a new member of the Meade family? Let’s not forget mistress murdering Claire Meade has a gun!

Who will be playing the overly involved Diane? None other than the Tony Award winning Kristin Chenoweth. In another big name guest starring role Angélica Vale the star of the Mexican version of Ugly Betty guest stars. Angélica will appear playing the orthodontist assistant and looking exactly like her character from La fea mas bella. Gina Gershon will also reprise her role as cosmetics mogul Fabia.

Octavia Spencer who plays Constance the crazy stalkerish INS case worker on Ugly Betty now has her own series on Comedy Central. Halfway Home premiered on March 14 and centers around a group of ex-cons living together in a residential style rehab facility and trying to adjust to life outside of prison.

Octavia’s character suffers from anger management issues and is a convicted armed robber. I caught a repeat episode Sunday night, the improvisational style to the show is reminiscent of Reno 911 and has its funny moments. Oscar Nunez from NBC’s The Office fame is the shows creator and also stars in the series. A new episode from the series airs this Wednesday. Go to Comedy Central to find more information.

Another TV pilot season is under way and two actresses from Ugly Betty fame have landed new gigs:

Jayma Mays who plays Henry’s girlfriend Charlie will star in Nice Girls Don’t Get the Corner Office for NBC. Let’s hope they change the title before this show makes it on the air. The drama focuses around a “nice girl” dealing with the ruthlessness of working in a corporate environment. Sounds a little like a serious take of The Office.

Ava Gaudet who plays the scheming next door neighbor Gina Gambarro has been cast in See Jane Run on ABC. Which by the name alone sounds like a typical comedy about a desperate single woman looking for love, but thats just my opinon.

No idea yet on how this will affect their roles on Ugly Betty.
