Watching Ugly Betty

Hilda has been out all night with Santos and in an attempt to hide it from Ignacio and Justin she climbs in through Betty’s window and falls over her. Betty wakes up and they both start to scream. When Hilda asks why Betty isn’t at work Betty responds that Christina was her best friend and she confided information to her that she went and shared with Wilhelmina and Daniel told her to but out of his life, and Henry has a girlfriend. An unsympathetic Hilda tells her to get over it and go to work.

Bradford is getting out of bed with Wilhelmina to go to his morning meeting with Alexis. Wilhelmina continues to try and worm herself into his affections by telling him she can be more than just his morning pick me up she wants to be their for him when he needs someone to talk with. Bradford only seems to have one thing on his mind as he presses Wilhelmina back onto the bed.

Daniel is meeting with Petra and Leta who are blackmailing him for sleeping with an underage Petra. When Daniel tries to pay them off with $75,000 in cash Leta responds that Petra gets the cover or he goes to jail.

When Betty finally gets up her nerve to go into Daniels office she is all business. He attempts to talk with her but she reminds him he already said everything that needed to be said “You’re the boss and I’m just your assistant.”

Wilhelmina has had about all the sex with Bradford that she can take. She gives his Viagra pills to Marc and tells him to replace them with anything. When Marc asks her if it’s really worth it Wilhelmina replies it’s the only way that she can run his empire. Marc tells her if she really wants to move past being just his mistress she needs to make herself indispensable. Find the thorn in his side and pull it out.

Bradford gets right down to business with Alexis he offers her 10 million dollars to resign from Mode and disappear. He tells Alexis that he only has one child now and he wants him in charge. An enraged Alexis lets him know that she’s not going anywhere until she makes him pay for everything that he has done to her.

Ignacio’s case seems to finally be on the right track. When Hilda comes down and attempts to lie about last night he lets her know that he already knew that she was out with Santos since he heard her climbing the drain pipe and tells her she’s acting like she’s still in high school.

Betty goes to buy Daniel’s bagel and sees Petra using ID to buy cigarettes. When she sees a fighting Henry and Charlie coming up she tries to leave in a hurry but is unsuccessful. Charlie tells Betty that Henry spends too much time at the office and Henry responds that Charlie relies on him for everything. Betty escapes them and runs into Christina on the elevator, to escape her she goes to take the stairs.

It seems Betty wasn’t fast enough though because as she approaches Amanda’s desk Daniel, Henry and Christina are all coming up from different entrances to talk to her. Betty flashes into a witch hunt sequence, she drops Daniel’s bagel announces that she is sick and is going home as she rushes off.

Daniel shows up late to an editorial meeting and attempts to get Alexis to put Petra on the cover. Alexis tells him she’s not dumping Scarlett Johansson from the cover and thinks he offered the girl the cover for sleeping with him.

Hilda is using Justin as a hair model in exchange for him getting to skip P.E. when an upset Betty shows up. Betty tells Hilda she tried but she just can’t suck it up and thinks she should quit. When Betty states that clearly they are not her friends Hilda tells Betty she is being too hard on he friends like always. When Betty starts to leave and denies Hilda’s statement Hilda reminds her of Trina DiPaolo

Betty is upset that Hilda would even bring up her name and claims she ruined their friendship when she ruined their anti-prom. Betty flashes back to the event and we get to see her in another unique prom dress. She and Trina are on the couch watching Carrie and eating popcorn when Trina gets invited to prom by a guy whose date canceled at the last minute. When Trina says she wants to go an upset Betty tells Trina they made a pact in yearbook committee and calls her a traitor. In Betty’s version Trina calls her pathetic and dumps pigs blood on her head but Hilda who was also their gives us the true story.

Hilda tells Betty she should have told Trina how she felt then instead of refusing to speak to her and losing her friendship. She tells Betty that if she doesn’t let Christina and Daniel know how much they hurt her feelings because she doesn’t want to lose them she will end up losing them anyway.

A new gay fashion designer Tavares gets blown off from a meeting with Wilhelmina and a sympathetic Amanda in a rare act of kindness makes him a new appointment in Wilhelmina’s book. A grateful Tavares gives her a leather jacket from his collection as a thank you. Later Wilhelmina compliments Amanda’s jacket and she calls Tavares to give him a heads up on what changes he should make before presenting his designs to Wilhelmina. He offers her free clothing if she comes over to his studio and helps him out.
Henry wants to know why Daniel needed him to cut a $75, 000 check for miscellaneous expenses. Daniel lets Henry know he can have the check back and confess his predicament. Both Daniel and Henry are missing Betty and Daniel regrets that he didn’t listen to Betty’s warning and thinks he should just deal with the consequences. Henry tells him to talk to Alexis and get her to put Petra on the cover. When Daniel is doubtful that Alexis will help Henry says their family and that has to count for something.

Rodrigo the Mode creative director from Brazil is shooting a photo shoot. He takes the time to flirt with Alexis when she shows up after the shoot wraps up he asks Alexis out on a date. She turns him down at first because she hasn’t had sex since becoming a women but dear pal Wilhelmina tells her its got to happen sometime so she agrees to go out with him and wants to warn him that she used to be a man but he already knew and says he wants to get to know who she is now not who she used to be.

When Daniel admits his mistake to Alexis she laughs at him and tells him about what their father tried to do. She tells him he just became a pawn in their game and if she is going to use him just to make dear old dad angry. Alexis tells Daniel if he wants Petra to get the magazine cover the only way its going to happen is if he resigns.

A suspicious Santos is wondering why Ignacio has invited him to dinner. Ignacio asks Santos what is he doing with his daughter and he says dating. Ignacio reminds him of what he did in 1995, walked out on a pregnant Hilda and left her crying in her bedroom for a month. Santos tells Ignacio he doesn’t have to prove anything to him Ignacio responds that he does have something to prove to Hilda and Justin. He tells Santos to just walk away now before everyone starts dreaming of a future that is never going to happen. Santos nods his head and walks out without a word.

Betty goes to see Christina but she is not in her office and leaves a Post It Note on her desk. While in the mirror steam ironing his hair Henry walks in and tells her the situation with Daniel. Betty goes to see Daniel and lets him know how much his comments hurt her feelings and tells him when he hired her he got more than a boss he got a friend. Daniel promptly apologizes and tells her that’s what he needs. After Daniel asks if their okay Betty tells him yes, and then reads him the riot act for sleeping with a minor. Daniel tells Betty there is no way to fix this and he has to resign and let Alexis run the magazine from now on.

Santos is running late for his date with Hilda and starts to get worried. Ignacio doesn’t want Hilda to get disappointed and shares that he doesn’t think he is going to show when it’s a knock at the door. It’s Santos and when Hilda asks why he just didn’t honk from his car he tells her their not kids anymore and they don’t have to sneak around. He gets down on 1 knee and proposes to Hilda!

Hilda wants to talk with Justin before accepting. She tells Justin it’s just been the two of them for so long and it’s his decision too. He tells her she doesn’t need his permission to get married and doesn’t have to do it for him. Justin tells Hilda to do it because she loves him.

Daniel is with Alexis about to sign the papers as Henry and Betty watch from the hall, when Petra and Leta show up to do test shots. When Petra lights up a cigarette Betty remembers that she had ID to buy cigarettes with so she has to be at least eighteen! Betty runs by and picks up her purse runs into the office and tells Daniel she’s not sixteen. When she dumps out the contents of the purse they realize Betty picked up the wrong one. Henry snatches Petra’s purse and passes the ID to Betty. It shows she’s 20! Leta fusses her out for being stupid enough to carry it on her. A relieved Daniel tears up the papers.

Betty and Henry celebrate their victory with a hug when they get close both of them tell each other how much they have been missing each other. Charlie has just gotten off the elevator and overhears them.

Amanda is in Tavares office and gets naked in front of him to try on clothes when he gets aroused he tells her he has a confession to make. After they have sex he explains that he is just pretending to be gay because no one wants to look at a straight guys fashion portfolio. Amanda comes up with a plan that in public she’s just part of his entourage and in private they can be together.

When Alexis shows up to see Rodrigo she wants to skip dinner and get right to dessert! She throws him down on the bed and after a few awkward questions about condoms the deed is done and Alexis admits to Rodrigo it was worth becoming a woman for. Rodrigo then express his disappointment that he has to leave soon and invites Alexis to come back to Brazil with him.

Hilda gives Santos back his ring and tells him she doesn’t want to get her heart broke again by rushing into something with him. Santos tells Hilda the only reason he proposed is because he loves her and walks out. Hilda runs out after him but he was only waiting on the porch the two embrace and kiss.

A happy Daniel is already celebrating his close call with champagne in his office and wants Betty to call him up some girls to hook up with. An unamused Betty tells Daniel he has an addiction and is using women to distract himself from his family troubles and suggests he get professional help. When Christina shows up Betty lets her know how upset and betrayed she felt over her actions. When Christina says she plans to tell off Wilhelmina first thing in the morning Betty tells her to hold off she may be able to overhear something to help them out with.

Bradford writes a check to Rodrigo and tells him he will get the rest of the cash when his job is complete along with a promotion to editor in chief of Mode Brazil. Bradford praises Wilhelmina for her idea and wonders how he survived so long without her. But he also warns her that he will never divorce Claire. When Bradford is ready to have sex Wilhelmina is surprised since he doesn’t need a pill (which Marc replaced with mints) he tells her with her he doesn’t think he will ever need a pill again.

Betty and Hilda are gushing over her engagement ring and Betty tells Hilda that she contacted Trina who it turns out married the guy that she ditched Betty to go to the prom with. Ignacio comes in looking upset and tells them his lawyer says they are sending him back to Mexico.
