Episode 2 of Season 2 or Episode 24

The Beginning: Staff meeting

Betty and the rest of the Mode staff are in a meeting and Wilhelmina is reading the letter from the editor. Betty tries to get a bagel by leaning behind her and knocks over the whole table and disturbs the meeting. Marc is polite enough to whisper to her that no one notices but of course everyone noticed. Betty asks Wilhelmina shouldn’t the editor (Daniel) be writing the letter from the editor and Wilhelmina quickly shuts her up.

At the hospital Daniel informs Betty that Alexis doesn’t remember the last 2 years of her life as Alexis keeps hilariously grabbing her boobs (which makes Betty grab her own boobs as well). Betty convinces Daniel to take a look at the book (the current issue) before it goes to press. Daniel still blames himself for the accident and doesn’t know how to break the news to Alexis of everything she’s missed. Including: Claire Meade is on the run from the law (Alexis later sees this on TV), their father rejected her, Claire and Bradford are divorcing and Bradford’s going to marry Wilhelmina.

Back at Mode Marc sends off the hair samples from Amanda and Bradford to see if he’s her father. The test will take 24 hours meanwhile Amanda has already contacted Fey Sommers lawyers to see how much of her estate she is entitled to receive.

At the Suarez home boxes are everywhere. Hilda is going through all of Santos belongings from his apartment. Hilda also took the time to brown bag a lunch for Justin on his first day at Mode but he rejects it. Hilda lets Justin know how proud of him she is and how proud Santos would be too.

Wilhelmina introduces her new bodyguard Dwayne to Marc. Marc uses the bodyguard for a bit of fun when Betty comes into the office by telling the man she’s Claire Meade and poor Betty ends up in a hold. When Wilhelmina finally gets him to let her down Betty asks her for the book to show Daniel. Wilhelmina dismisses her so Betty turns to Marc who’s even less help. He does however let it slip that the book is in Wilhelmina’s apartment. When Betty sees Marc open his desk drawer to give a key to Wilhelmina’s apartment to Dwayne she waits till he walks out and steals one!

As Betty turns around she’s confronted by Henry who’s back! Henry tells Betty he’s excited about the baby and needs the health benefits he has at Mode so he’s taken his old job back. That is if it’s okay with Betty. Being the good hearted person she is Betty tells him he should be excited about the baby and they can be friends.

When Betty tells Christina about Henry Christina tries to convince Betty to tell him the truth and expose Charlie. Betty says she can’t break up a family. They arrive in front of Wilhelmina’s apartment and Betty tells an unsuspecting Christina that they are going to break into her apartment and steal the book.

Middle: A little afternoon delight

Back at Mode Justin is bored with sharpening pencils for Betty and offers to help Marc. Marc puts him to work updating the contacts in Wilhelmina’s cell phone. Afterwards Marc gets a chance to take notes on what items are needed for Sharkira’s dressing room (the star is scheduled for a Mode photo shoot). Justin is the only one of the Interns who gets the list right and Marc tells him he’s in charge.

Fey Sommers lawyer comes by and Amanda finds out that most of her mother’s estate has already been auctioned off to charity. The only thing left is her dog; at fist Amanda has no interest in looking after a pet until she finds out Halston comes with a thousand dollar a week allowance.

Daniel enlists Bradford’s help to break the truth to Alexis. When Bradford comes to talk to her she calls him dad and the two get a moment to bond. Bradford is surprised by the changes he sees in her and Alexis tells him that maybe Alexis can have a softer touch than Alex; Bradford says maybe he can too.

Betty and Christina have found the book in Wilhelmina’s bedroom when someone comes in. They hide under the bed and are shocked to discover it’s Wilhelmina and her bodyguard! It seems Wilhelmina has been having “afternoon romps” for years using a fake appointment as a cover. Dwayne asks Wilhelmina can he be on top this time before she throws him to the bed and jumps him! Two hours later Christina and Betty are still stuck under the bed and have begun texting each other in order to pass the time. Finally Wilhelmina and Dwayne go to take a shower and they escape.

When Wilhelmina comes out the shower she finds Betty’s earring on the floor and knows she’s been caught. Calling Marc she tells him to get her some dirt on Betty, Marc pumps Justin for information.

Hilda receives comfort from Ignacio over the phone. After hanging up Ignacio is starting to lose it and doesn’t think he can wait for his Visa any longer. When he says he will find some other way to get across the border Clara (Suarez family cousin) tells him she knows someone who can help.

Nick (Alexis assistant) is picking up a package for her from Amanda’s desk and says her dog stinks. Amanda starts to brag about how much money she gets for taking care of Halston when he falls over and looks dead. Betty and Christina are back in the office and Betty is looking for Daniel to tell him what she witnessed. She knows he can use the information to stop Wilhelmina and Bradford’s wedding. Marc interrupts and tells her Wilhelmina is waiting for her on the roof.

The roof is a mannequin graveyard and Wilhelmina is waiting with Betty’s earring in her hand and fake thunder provided by Marc. When Betty says her loyalty is to Daniel and she plans on telling him the truth Wilhelmina makes Betty an offer she might not be able to refuse. Her father is a U.S. Senator and can get Ignacio back in the country legally. She gives Betty till 5pm to think about her offer.

Daniel can’t believe how supportive Bradford is being to Alexis all of a sudden and confronts him. Bradford tells Daniel he wants to start a new relationship with his daughter and he plans on fixing his past mistakes. Daniel starts to tell Alexis anyway but she tells him having her and Bradford makes her realize she’s not alone. Then she asks if the car accident was her fault. Daniel blames himself and doesn’t want to confess his guilt so he tells her the accident was caused when she swerved to avoid hitting a deer.

Marc gives Justin the access card to the Shakira photo shoot. Justin is excited at first but then gets sad when he remembers his father just died. Marc tells Justin its okay to be happy he did a good job and he should enjoy it. Justin is walking down the street and singing to himself when he stumbles into a convenience store that has the last item he needs for the Shakira photo shoot (organic soy rice cakes.) The owner recognizes him and tells him he was at Santos funeral. In fact this is the same store where he was murdered. He tells Justin Santos was a good man and he’s probably just like him. A saddened Justin says no he’s not and walks out.

Amanda has to take her dog to the veterinarian and it needs monthly prescriptions and care she decides she wants to get rid of it. Amanda takes the dog to the pound and wants to say goodbye. When the lady insults her ugly dog Amanda get defense and says the dog knows more about her mother than she could ever hope to learn and it’s the only thing remaining. She decides to keep her.

Betty is debating what to do when she has a dream about Ignacio. He tells her to keep her mouth shut and get his butt out of Mexico! Betty is still planning to tell Daniel the truth when she receives a frantic call from Ignacio who tells her he can’t wait anymore and has decided to run. Betty tries to talk him out of it but his mind is made up and he’s planning to leave the next night. Betty tells him to hold on and she will get him home. Betty goes to Wilhelmina and accepts her offer with less than a minute to spare.

The Ending: Knock Knock

Henry runs into Christina and wants to know if Betty is mad at him. Christina tells him Betty is just confused. When Henry confesses that he’s confused too and still misses what he and Betty used to share Christina decides she has to tell Henry the truth because Charlie is making an ass out of him.

Justin is home and Hilda tells him to take an item to remember Santos by. Justin chooses a basketball.

Daniel talks to Wilhelmina and lets her know he doesn’t appreciate the changes she made and wants his ideas incorporate Daniel is surprised when Wilhelmina agrees. As she leaves she tells Betty her father is coming back on Thursday and to give him her regards. Daniel praises Betty and tells her she is the one person who he can really trust. A guilty Betty doesn’t know what to say.

Bradford reviews pictures of his family in happier times when Wilhelmina comes in to discussing wedding plans. He tells her he wants to postpone the wedding since he doesn’t think a giant party is appropriate right now. Wilhelmina acts calm then goes up to the roof to behead mannequins and scream at the sky this time complete with real thunder and lighting.

Hilda tells Betty that Ignacio has gotten his Visa and Hilda is all excited and wants to plan a big party. She shows Betty the bowling pin lamp of Santos’s that she kept.

As Ignacio is packing to leave theirs a knock on the door he opens it and is confronted by a man with a gun.

Betty is surprised when a drunken Henry shows up at her door. He tells her Christina told him everything, and Charlie is no longer a reason anymore to keep them apart and he wants to be with Betty.

*Marlon Brando: Actor who Marc seems to have had a crush on.

* Naomi Campbell: is mentioned by Justin when he tells his mother he wants to eat lunch in the Mode cafeteria. The supermodel had a meltdown and a tuna melt there.

*Nora Ephron: The Academy Award nominated screenwriter who Wilhelmina sets up fake appointments with to cover her midday sexcapades.

*Gremlin: The ugly monsters from the Gremlins movie, Amanda calls Halston a gremlin upon first seeing him.

*Dick Cheney: The Vice President is seen in a photo in Wilhelmina’s apartment.

*Warren Beatty: Marc is sending the actor a 60^th birthday card from Wilhelmina but thinks he’s older.

*Madonna: Marc mentioned the singer had a meltdown on a previous photo shoot when an item on her list wasn’t there.

*Cujo: From the novel by Stephen King of the same name refers to an unstable dog. Amanda uses it to refer to the receptionist at the dog pound.
